OPENING
The seventh Floriade Expo took place from 14 April to 9 October 2022 in Almere, the Netherlands. Germany exhibited its German Garden there and invited the visitors to discover German solutions for the green cities of the future under the banner “BIOTOPIA – Growing Community.”
BIOTOPIA was a place of participation and dialogue, a place that was permanently growing and evolving. Visitors could see the ideas and plants for greener cities grow here and actively play their part. The guiding principle was the utopian vision of a sustainable, healthy way of living in future cities. The architecture was a biotope, a habitat permanently in motion, an as yet unfinished, growing building block for the city of the future. An inspiring, motivating place. A place that invited people to think further, build further and grow further together.
